The case went to trial for three weeks before settling on the morning of closing arguments for $17.2 million total, including monies received prior to trial at a mediation.
Construction Negligence - $6.5 million settlement at trial
This case involved a $6.5 million settlement at trial against multiple defendants involving a construction injury to a 62-year-old floor finisher who fell through a hole which was cut on the main floor and covered with cardboard, resulting in C4 quadriplegia.
Carbon Monoxide Poisoning - $6.2 million recovery
In this case a young girl passed away and her minor brother suffered serious injuries when exposed to carbon monoxide emitted by a furnace. There were numerous parties involved in the litigation, and the case settled with all defendants following several mediation sessions.

Automobile Accident - $2 million mediation recovery
This case involved an automobile collision in Crete, Illinois, resulting in serious injuries to a 53-year-old man. The lawsuit was filed, and extensive discovery took place prior to the parties mediating the case and coming to an agreement.

This lawsuit involved the wrongful death of a 38-year-old woman in Kane County. The Plaintiff was negligently prescribed oral contraceptives for infertility treatments without being informed that she had a blood clotting condition known as Factor V Leiden. The Plaintiff broke her foot and developed a deep vein thrombosis (DVT). That DVT led to a pulmonary embolism and her death. After extensive discovery, Defendant doctor paid his full insurance policy limits.

This lawsuit involved a minor who had a condition known as Hirschsprung’s Disease. The Defendant negligently performed surgery resulting in sepsis and death of the minor. The case was resolved after extensive discovery had taken place between the parties.
Medical Malpractice - $800,000.00 jury verdict in LaSalle County, IL
This lawsuit involved the delivery of a newborn where shoulder dystocia was encountered. The attending physician negligently applied a vacuum and failed to allow the mother to continue to push during the delivery resulting in a mild brachial plexus injury to the baby.

This case involved a minor who - following an auto accident - was neglected at the nursing home, resulting in multiple bedsores and other injuries consistent with nursing home neglect.
Medical Malpractice - $604,116.25 jury verdict in Kane County, Il
A 16-year-old injured his leg playing baseball, requiring surgery. Due to the negligence of the treating doctor in the hospital, there was a worsening of his leg injury (called a compartment syndrome) which required additional surgery. The case was on trial for 1½ weeks in Kane County, Illinois, resulting in a jury verdict in favor of our client.
Medical Malpractice - $522,026.00 jury verdict
This difficult medical malpractice case, involving an inmate who received negligent medical care resulting in the loss of his leg, had to be tried twice in front of a Cook County jury, after the initial trial ended in a hung jury. The trial lasted in excess of a week, and the jurors indicated they would have awarded more if the client had not been a convict.
Premises Liability - $500,000 recovery
This was a settlement at trial of a 37-year-old woman asleep in her CHA apartment when she was shot by unidentified persons from the abandoned CHA apartment building across the courtyard from her. The persons who shot her were never found, but bullets were found in the abandoned apartment. Numerous depositions were taken. The defendant was the security company for the CHA.
